Free Verse on a Set Track

There’s just something about sharing a space with a group of strangers that makes you start to wonder about them and their life.

Poetry in Transit began in August 2009 and is a collection of free verse poems composed on the Edmonton LRT.

Each poem draws its inspiration from the unique characteristics  of a particular passenger.

From time to time there will be poems that were inspired by people outside of the transit system as well as a guest poet to help change to mood and voice of the site.

Though the poet has traveled on other transit systems including the New York Subway, the London tube, and the Japanese rail system,

she has only met the poetical muse on the Edmonton LRT.

The poet currently resides on the outskirts of Edmonton with her husband and uses the LRT  like so many others to travel to and from her current source of income.

Please feel free to comment on the poems.

Cheers,

Transitional Poet
